Screen to stream · RTSP · UDP MPEG-TS · Browser viewer · Runs for weeks

Put the nav screen on the DVR, the client's VLC and the browser — and leave it running.

WoodVideo Broadcast captures any window — even when it is covered — or a whole monitor on a Windows PC and serves it three ways at once: an RTSP stream for VisualSoft, VLC and DVRs, a UDP MPEG-TS stream (multicast or unicast) and an MJPEG viewer in the browser. It was built to run for the length of a job: the encoder restarts itself on a stall, the source window is found again when its program is reopened, the PC is kept awake, and clients stay connected through all of it.

Portable: unzip and run, nothing to install. Free.

What it does

A video source for the survey network that does not need babysitting.

The nav display, the sonar screen, the survey PC's desktop: pick the window or the monitor, press START, and it is on the DVR and on everyone's VLC.

01

Capture anything

A window by title (it keeps working when another window covers it) or a monitor; the source is re-found by title when the program behind it restarts.

02

RTSP for the DVR

Its own RTSP server on port 8554 with a continuous clock, so VisualSoft, WoodDVR, VLC and other DVRs stay connected through encoder restarts.

03

UDP for the spread

An MPEG-TS stream to a multicast group or a unicast address on the interface you choose — the whole survey LAN can watch at once.

04

Browser viewer

An MJPEG view on port 8250 for any browser on the network, next to the control panel.

05

Self-healing

Supervisor restarts on an exit, hang or stall with backoff; keep-awake while on air; GDI objects renewed; FFmpeg killed with the app if the app is killed; a keeper script relaunches the exe.

06

Portable and simple

One folder with the program, FFmpeg and a data folder for settings and logs. Ports and addresses in the panel; a command-line port switch if 8250 is taken.
